Please note the message below which has been received from a representative of Knowle Park Trust.
I am writing about a small but ongoing issue we are seeing in Knowle Park, particularly around the dog poo bins closest to the Little Meadow entrance. We are finding increasing amounts of domestic waste being added to these bins, often carrier bags full of used dog poo bags from home.
I would really appreciate it if you could pass on a gentle reminder to residents that the bins in Knowle Park are for dog waste and rubbish generated within the park itself only, and should never be used for domestic household waste.
As a small charity, waste collection is a significant cost for us. The extra volume also means more frequent emptying, which takes up volunteer time and adds wear and tear to the paths and park machinery. We want to keep the park clean and welcoming for everyone, but we do rely on residents using the facilities as intended.
