There has been temporary (Heras) fencing along the boundary with Knowle Park for over four years now and we recently made contact with the park’s management to seek information about its replacement, which is long overdue.
The work there is now scheduled to start very soon. They have taken some time to review material options and have decided that the best approach, given the setting beside the wetland, is to create a natural hedge and hurdle using willow harvested locally. This will give a boundary that blends into the landscape, supports biodiversity, and avoids the visual impact that can come with more formal fencing. The harvested willow will be strong and attractive from day one, with a living willow hedge establishing alongside it over time.
We have agreed that we will allow access across Little Meadow land, if necessary, to enable the installation to proceed.
